Maruti Swift DZire VXi Review

Affordable Feature Rich Sedan

Friday, August 19, 2011

Maruti DZire is the a value for money sedan in its segment from Maruti cradle after SX4 , SX4 was a good hit by sales number. Though some may not like the styling and design of Dzire because the boot of Dzire doesn't look well integrated to the body but the demand for Dzire is very high and Maruti is not able to cope the demand which results in long waiting period especially for Dzire's diesel variant in white shade.

My Swift Dzire LXI -Purchased on Jan -2011; Done 1800Kms- has the perennial problem of engine over-heating which has repeated even after the 1st and 2nd service of the vehicle. Everytime the engine over-heats, the car stalls and fails to restart. We have faced this problem for 8 times till date. We have informed about this problem/defect multiple times to the Service Center which they failed to resolve till date. This problem has aggravated over a period of time.

On 23rd August, this vehicle has stalled after running for 24Kms at a stretch and the support team at r had to tow the vehicle to their service center. The Service center folks has informed me that they have inspected the engine and they found it faulty .They informed us that, they have send the pictures of the faulty section inside the engine to the MarutiSuzuki-Delhi center. The vehicle is now with theService Center.

It's extremely disappointing that it has happened to a vehicle which ran for just 1886 Kms. My other car - Hyundai - i10 Auto; Purchased on May-2011 ; Done 3000Kms has no problem till date.

We have conveyed the message that we will not be able to accept any engine which has opened and re-assembled at the service center.

Didn't expect this from MarutiSuzuki.

With Regrets,
Shevas

Dzire should change the shape of the front to rear end of the car. It will have much more demand. Presently looking from the side it appears like the car has been met with a accident and the rear top is smashed. Partially the styling of front door needs to be imporved.

Its almost 7 Months since I have bought this sedan. Consistantly it was giving 15 Kms / Litre till the 2nd Servicing last month (City & Highway drive with A/C on). Now suddenly its reduced by 0.5-1.0 Km / Lit  after the service. I am planning to check average with the dealer soon. Its really a very comfortable car. I tried i20 couple of times but I felt driving comfort is superior with Dzire only.

Ours is one and half months old Bright red Vxi, clocked 1400 Kms in pune city. Excellent Car in it class. Its giving an average of 14.0 Kms / Litre with A/C on and Off in city driving condition. We have never gone for a long drive and couldn't measure the average in high way. I have only positive points to support this classy Sedan. I find much better leg space in front and rear seat portion. Even boot is huge enough to hold lots of luggage. Great Driving comfort. very Silent engine and sound proof cabin. Great Height. Gear shifting / Clutch is very smooth. Nothing more to say. Value for Money car. Even You will get very good resale value -Harish

My wife and I have been owning and driving Maruti for the last 15 years. Our last two cars were Maruti 800.We have never had any problem. This time we decided to migrate to Maruti Dzire and went in for a VXI in July 2008. Unfortunately within three months the clutch plate wore out. Maruti agreed to replace the clutch plate as a one time gesture. However within a month the second clutch plate is also worne out. The dealers (Mandovi of Bangalore) say the clutch system in DZire is more delicate than in Maurti 800. Is it that DZire is not dessigned for city driving in Bangalore with sloping roads and inching traffic? We did not have any problem, including clutch problem with the Maruti 800?
