Which is better - Mahindra XUV500 or Tata Safari Storme?

Both XUV500 and Safari Storme are vehicles that are designed with a lot of space. The Storme is cheaper compared to XUV500. It is priced between Rs 9.95 lakh and Rs 13.6 lakh whereas XUV500 is priced between Rs 11.6 lakh and Rs 13.9 lakh. The price indicated for the Safari Storme is for four variants, LX, EX, GX and VX and the one indicated for XUV500 is for three variants, W6, W8 and W8 4 X 4. XUV500 is better than the Storme when it comes to mileage since it is fuel efficient. It has a mileage of 15.1kmpl unlike the Storme which has a mileage of 13.2kmpl. They both have a 2.2 litre common-rail diesel engine that produces 140bhp of power. Mahindra XUV500 is a front-wheel drive vehicle with a six-speed manual transmission and it is also lighter with a better power-to-weight ratio compared to the Storme which is heavy and has a five speed manual transmission and it is a rear-wheel drive vehicle.

The XUV500 has a lot of features compared to the Storme and it also leads in terms of comfort. It has six airbags, GPS navigation, ABS, electronic stability program, hill descent control, cruise control, Bluetooth, automatic headlamps, cornering lamps, rain-sensing wipers, tilt and telescopic steering and start-stop micro hybrid system and the Storme has two airbags, ABS, all-round disc brakes, power fold mirrors and DIN music system. Lastly Mahindra XUV500 is better on on-road whereas the Tata Safari Storme is better on off-road.
