Maruti Vitara Brezza AMT was last shown at 2016 Indonesia Auto Show. The event took place nearly 9 months before the current date and this hints that they can anytime launch the AMT variant for the car. The gearbox on use will be an AMT unit while news also report that Maruti will be developing the gearbox on their own. If this comes out to be true, they will launch all other cars with their own AMT gearbox in the near future after Maruti Vitara Brezza.

Maruti was working on new products like Baleno RS, Ignis and even 2017 Dzire from last few months, This could have pushed them back when it comes to the development of new gearbox for Vitara Brezza. Maruti's current generation cars are clear bestsellers and are offered with long waiting periods for Baleno, Vitara Brezza and Ignis. The new Dzire is even reported to carry a three month waiting period.
