Overview of Chevrolet Beat

Chevrolet Beat is another major launch by GM India after the recent launch of Cruze which has been recieved very well by Indian Customers. The super value for money pricing means that the new Beat is almost Rs 60,000 cheaper than its 1.2 Litre competition. Even the top end ABS and Airbags version is cheaper than Rs 45,000 when compared to the likes of Maruti Ritz and Hyundai i10. The Chevrolet Beat is the best looking small car in its segment and some striking design elements like huge front grille, peeled-back headlamps, c-pillar mounted rear door handles and clear lens tail-lamps. The interiors are also very modern and stylish in comparison to its main rival cars. It features first-of-its-kind all digital instrument cluster which is mounted one the steering column and it looks very futuristic and cool. Chevrolet India has recently also updated the engine of Beat, the new engine is known as Smart Tech which has same displacement of 1199cc but develops more power which is now 82 bhp, which is 3 bhp more than the old generation engine. The company also claims that new engine is more fuel efficient and durable.

Variants of Chevrolet Beat

Chevrolet Beat is available in four variants:

- Chevrolet Beat PS
- Chevrolet Beat LS
- Chevrolet Beat LT
- Chevrolet Beat LT Option

The base variant comes with AC and power steering. The top of the line LT Option pack consists of ABS, Alloy wheels, Dual Airbags and Seatbelts with Load limiters. The Beat comes with host of features including Automatic Climate Control, Integrated Centre Stack Audio with USB and Aux-in Port, Tilt steering, Steering Column mounted LED back-lit speedometer & LCD digital tachometer, 60:40 Split folding seats, Tubeless Tyres, Satin Silver Roof rails.

Engine Of Chevrolet Beat

- New 1199cc Smart Tech DOHC petrol engine
- Generates maximum power of 82 Bhp
- Develops maximum torque of 108 Nm
- Company claimed mileage is around 18 kmpl

Chevrolet Beat is powered by a 1.2 litre 4 cylinder engine Smart Tech DOHC which will generate 82 Bhp of maximum power at 6400 rpm with 108 Nm of maximum torque at 4400 rpm. The Smart Tech engine employs PDA (Port De-Activation) system which ensures high exhaust gas recirculation, resulting in combustion stability at low speeds and optimal performance at high speeds together with improved fuel efficiency. The PDA system also reduces emissions. The company claims that new Smart Tech engine returns mileage of around 18 kmpl on highway.

  Beat petrol is the best car in its class. It can beat figo,polo,micra and i10. Best in class power of 82 ps none of above car has such power and milage. My beat ls gives 17 kmpl with ac on. Though boot space is too low but cant affect it coz it has more pros then cons. Chevy rules in 1200cc hatch back segment.
