Yamaha YZF-R3 Launched in India at Rs. 3.25 lakhs

Yamaha Motors has officially launched its new strong R-series bike in the market today, dubbed as '2015 YZF-R3'. It has been offered at a price tag of INR 3.25 Lakhs and its assembling will take place in India only. While, the booking of this sports bike are reportedly open at the selected dealership across the country with a booking amount of INR 30,000. Before this launch, there were speculations regarding the launch of "R25" in the country, as it was imported for the R&D test last year. But that remains speculations only. Yamaha had some other plans which are now visible to everyone.

Talking about the Yamaha YZF-R3, it shares its designing feature with 'R25' which has been selling in Indonesian market. But the new machine landed with bigger engine than its sibling. It is also seen as the elder brother of R25. At the first glance, YZF-R3 looks dashing and stylish. Its front gets a twin headlamps setup with small windshield makes it special in its segment. It packs a digital instrument cluster that shows analogue tachometer, gear/oil temperature indicator which is unavailable in the R25 motorcycle. Its diamond type fuel tank frame, split seats, sharp and edgy lines will definitely attract the buyer’s sight. The rear end boasts a LED tail light, stubby muffler and 2-1 exhaust pipe.

Mechanically, it comes equipped with a 321cc liquid-cooling, inline twin-cylinder, 4-stroke DOHC engine which generates a maximum power of 41.4 Bhp at 10,750 rpm and 29.6Nm of torque at 9000 rpm. It is aided to 6-speed Constant Mesh transmission. The fuel tank capacity it holds is 14-litres. Suspension duties of the bike are handled by a telescopic front forks and Monocross setup at the rear end. While, the braking system includes 298mm hydraulic disc at front and 220mm rear disc. It will not come with ABS support yet, but Yamaha might launch it later.

The YZF-R3 will be imported through CKD kit from Yamaha Indonesia Motors and its assembling process will take place in Chennai based company's plant. The motorcycle will reach selected dealerships by the end of this week and its deliveries will start from August 20, 2015. Initially, company has offered two, Racing Blue and Midnight Black color options. While the favourite of many fans - 'Red color' is not shown in the option list for now.
