TVS Star City Plus Launched at INR 44,000

TVS motors, who showcased its new motorcycle 'Star City+' in Auto Expo 2014, has now launched it officially in an event organised in Chennai. The company has offered it at Rs. 44000 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). There are two variants available in this new bike - Electric start and Kick start.

The Star City + packs a 110cc, single cylinder EcoThurst engine under the hood. This is the same unit that also does duty in TVS Jupiter, Wego and the existing model of this new bike Star City. But the peak power and torque generated by this new bike is different. The engine of Star City + generates the maximum power of 8.3Bhp at 7000rpm and maximum torque of 8.7Nm at 5000rpm. It comes mated to a four speed manual transmission and the fuel efficiency claimed by the Company is 83.9kmpl. The expected real-world figure would be somewhere around 55-65 kmpl, under routine driving conditions. Whereas, Star city produces 8.18bhp of power and 8.1Nm of torque.

The suspension duties of the bike are handled by telescopic forks at the front and adjustable shock absorbers at the rear. Stopping power to the bike is provided by the 130mm drum brakes at the front and 110mm drum brakes at the rear. Talking about its looks, it has stylish alloy wheels which enhance its beauty and grab the attention of buyers, chrome finished handlebar for comfort and stainless steel muffer guard. Another features includes paper aor filter, colored shock absorber springs, number plate illuminator lamp and clear lens indicator.

The company has offered four color options for this bike which includes Black, Grey, Blue and Celebrity Scarlet. Apart from this wonderful bike for its customers, TVS India has already showcased its new 'Apache' at the Auto Expo, which is slated to launch in the last quarter of 2014.
