Honda CB Hornet 160R Officially Revealed

The Japanese two-wheeler, Honda has officially announced its new 160cc motorcycle, 'CB Hornet 160R' in India. It is expected to replace the on-selling motorcycle, CB Trigger in the country. Before this motorcycle, company has used the Hornet name for high cubic capacity motorcycles which are selling in global markets. So, we can say it’s a first time that, Hornet name is joined with 160cc motorcycle. Apart from this, Honda has also launched 'CBR650F' in the Indian market on August 4, 2015 which is developed and designed in India.

Mechanically, CB Hornet will come equipped with a 160cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine which is expected to deliver 14.5Bhp of power at 8000 rpm and 14.61Nm torque at 6000 rpm. It might come mated to 5-speed manual transmission. This is the same unit of engine which company has used in its premium and one of the popular commuters, CB Unicorn. Whereas, Honda CB Hornet 160R comes with a more refreshed design and a most important factor of sportiness which CB Unicorn lacks somewhere. So, it’s not wrong to say Hornet a sportier-looking twin of Honda CB Unicorn.

Appearance wise, it gets a new muscular fuel tank, shorter single-piece handlebar, aluminium finished grab rails at back, new stylish headlight. The wheels it gets are the 10 spoke alloys. Overall, it is designed to serve the style-oriented Indian youth along with a powerful engine. Stopping duties will be handled by petal disc brakes at both the end and suspension system includes telescopic forks at front along with mono-spring absorbers at rear. It seems that company has done full preparation to take on its rivals in the market competition. After launch, it might lock horns with Suzuki Gixxer, Yamaha FZ-S V2.0 and more.

On the launch, company hasn't revealed any information yet. But it is expected to be launch in the festive season when most of the brands come out with their premium products.
