Ducati Planning to Launch Monster 696 in India
With the demand for bigger bikes growing in the Indian subcontinent. More and more bigger manufacturers are launching smaller capacity bikes at affordable prices. Now Ducati is ready to join the race as they are planning to launch its entry level sportsbike, the Monster 696 in India. Ducati is already selling the Asia-specific, Monster 795 in India which has received quite a good response. Monster 696 shares almost all its components with its bigger brother 795. Monster 696 is powered by 696cc L-twin Desmodromic valve train engine that generates 79 bhp max power at 9000 rpm and a peak torque of 69 Nm.
It feature wheelbase of 1450 mm, saddle height of 770 mm, alloys, tyres, brakes, 15L capacity fuel tank same as that of 795. The Italian automaker will assemble the Monster 696 in Thailand just like the 795 and will directly import it into India. As Ducati Monster 696 gets exempted from the recent tax hike the sportsbike is expected to launch it with a price tag around INR 6-6.5 lakh, nothing official though.
