Vehicle Overview Honda Eterno is one of its kind scooter that was offered in competition to the famous Bajaj Chetak in the Indian market. The geared scooter was powered by 147.7 cc, single cylinder engine that was good for 8 BHP at 6000 rpm and 10.60 Nm at 4000 rpm. It comes mated to a 4-speed gearbox that is placed on the left hand side of the handlebar. It weighs quite high at 139 kg and came with just 4.5 liters of fuel tank. Honda claimed a top speed of 85 kmph for the Eterno while it was mostly good for city riding with moderate speeds between 50-60 kmph. It claimed high torque at low rpm that proves good for pulling more weight than a motorcycle.

Honda is the largest manufacturer of internal combustion engines measured by volume. It is also the second largest Japanese automobile manufacturer since 2001. Along with motorcycles and automobiles Honda is also involved in the manufacturer of garden equipment, marine engines, personal watercraft and power generators. Since 1986, this company has also invested in research and development of artificial intelligence or commonly called robotics research. Honda had also ventured into aerospace by establishing GE Honda Aero Engines in 2004. With all the advancements in technology, Honda is providing its customers with latest up to date technologies.

Honda Eterno is the discontinued scooter by Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Limited. The four stroke air cooled engine of Eterno made 147.7cc of displacement. The power output of this single cylinder engine was 8 bhp at 6000 rpm and the maximum torque produced was 10.6 Nm at 4000 rpm. This engine was mated with 4-speed transmission supported by wet multi-plate clutch. This scooter measured 1810mm in length, 716mm in width, 1132mm in height and had wheelbase of 1247mm. The scooter weighed 139kgs with engine in the rear. This scooter had bottom link, spring loaded Hydraulic damper as front suspension and unit swing, spring loaded Hydraulic damper as rear suspension. Its frame was under bone type with high rigidity. It had drum brakes of 130mm diameter in front and rear tires.

With 4.5 litres of fuel tank capacity, this scooter gave an average mileage of 60kmpl (on highways) and 50kmpl (in city). This scooter had 12V electric maintenance free battery that powered 35W headlamp of the scooter and horn. It was available in kick start and an option of self-start on additional cost. It had a long seat for adequate comfort of the pavilion rider. The scooter gave the top speed of 85kmph and was suitable for any road conditions. The instrument cluster included in this scooter consisted of an analogue fuel gauge; analogue speedometer and side turn indicators. It was available in four colors named as Black, Silver Beige Metallic, Plasma Silver Metallic and Geny Grey Metallic. It was available at the ex-showroom price of INR 45,500 in Delhi.

Everything in this scooter is best, i am saying this after using it for 14 years, Still i have the scooter in working condition.

Pros: Everything in this scooter is best

Cons: Just one thing will disappoint you that this scooter don't have is fuel meter. Actually at that time scooter doesn't come with the fuel meter but still it's a cons.

I think they should add 1) New & effective suspensions 2) Fuel indicator 3) Self-start. Bcoz, 1) Current Jumpers are not as much effective 2) Fuel indicator for convenience 3) Self-start for convenience, especially for aged people.

Best Features: Build quality, Mileage.

Pros: Worth buying, Start with 1st kick in any season, Even if you start it for the 1st time in a day

Cons: Both front & rear suspensions are not as much effective
