Hero Maestro Edge 110 VX Review

09 Nov, 2023 04:40 PM

Detailed Review by Maxabout Team

Overview

In India, scooters are a serious business and Hero MotoCorp's new Maestro Edge is an example of that same business need. It is stylish, utilitarian, practical, and fuel efficient, and it was launched to compete with the Honda Activa, which is selling well month after month. In addition, the Maestro Edge is Hero's first scooter that was developed entirely in-house, with the assistance of its technology partners. The Hero Maestro edge is the successor to the standard Hero Maestro and includes a number of improvements. The Hero Maestro Edge's design has been updated, and it now provides more exceptional performance and advanced features than the previous model.

Hero Maestro Edge 110 Design and Style

The new Maestro Edge 110 has a similar appearance and design to the Maestro Edge 125, but with less bling. The body graphics are minimal, and the plane-jane design is getting old. The build quality and switchgear are excellent. Hero has also done a good job of featuring the Maestro Edge 110 with a good fit and finish. The riding ergonomics are also well thought out, and the scooter is a pleasure to ride. The spacious and comfortable seat is a major selling point. The headlight is a halogen bulb, with an LED DRL in front, and an LED taillight. There is plenty of storage space beneath the seat. Hero MotoCorp offers new stylish body graphics to entice young buyers, as well as an array of amazing colours to choose from.

2024 Hero Maestro Edge 110 has large and wide dimensions. The scooter's overall length, width, and height are among the longest in the segment. This contributes to the Maestro Edge 110 appearing larger than it is. While riding through tight city traffic and spaces, the overall dimensions do feel bulky at times. On the contrary, the large dimensions aid in the ride quality becoming subtle and composed at high speeds. The Maestro Edge 110 scooter's overall dimensions are correct. It has a length of 1843 mm, a width of 715 mm, a height of 1188 mm, and a wheelbase of 1261 mm.

Hero Maestro Edge 110 Engine and Gearbox

2024 Hero Maestro Edge 110 is well-known for its dependable and fuel-efficient engine. Hero has equipped the Maestro Edge with a tried and tested engine in the Indian commuter scooter segment. The 110.9cc air-cooled, 4-stroke, SI engine produces a maximum output of 8 hp and a maximum torque of 8.75 Nm. While these figures may not appear to be significant on paper, the Maestro Edge performs admirably in terms of weight and power. Hero has outfitted the Maestro Edge with a CVT transmission that seamlessly transfers power to the rear wheel. The Maestro Edge 110 also has a good real-world fuel economy due to its small engine capacity, which is now B6 compliant.

Hero Maestro Edge 110 Suspension, Brakes and Tyres

2024 Hero Maestro Edge 110 has a front Telescopic Hydraulic Shock Absorber as well as a rear Unit Swing with Spring Loaded Hydraulic Damper. It has a good tyre and brake setup, making the Hero Maestro Edge 110 a well-knitted city scooter for the daily commute. The 12-inch front and rear 10-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, which are supported by a good combination of brakes, are popular with potential buyers. The front disc brake on the Maestro Edge is paired with a drum brake on the rear. The combined braking system contributes to the scooter's high braking power.

The new Maestro Edge 110's ride and handling are well-suited to Indian roads. The ride is soft, and even with a pillion, the scooter remains calm and composed on rough roads. Furthermore, the high-speed riding is stable, and the suspension works well over the road's undulations. The Maestro Edge 110 is designed for the everyday office commuter, and the handling is nimble and easy to manoeuvre through congested city streets.

Key Features of Hero Maestro Edge 110

2024 Maestro Edge 110 has LED DRLs, MID for the rider, a side-stand engine cut-off, Start/Stop technology, telescopic front suspension and a service reminder warning. With the Maestro Edge 110, Hero also offers disc brakes. The instrument cluster is updated with a new design that includes an integrated digital display. There are also a number of useful features, such as a massive 22-litre under-seat storage compartment, a front luggage hook, and a front storage box. The Hero Maestro Edge 110 BS6 has an external fuel filler cap, making refuelling simple. It also has an apron-mounted multi-function key slot, a utility hook, a lockable hook below the seat, an underseat USB charger, and a boot light for added convenience. Aside from the standard set information, its semi-digital instrument cluster includes a service reminder, side stand indicator, and tripmeter.

Top Speed and Mileage of Hero Maestro Edge 110

The top speed of Hero Maestro Edge 110 is 80 km/h and the mileage is around 45 km/l.

Hero Maestro Edge 110 Colour Options

Hero offers Maestro Edge in seven different colour options: Pearl Fadeless White, Techno Blue, Candy Blazing Red, Panther Black, Midnight Blue ZX, Seal Silver ZX, and 100 Million Special Edition.

Hero Maestro Edge 110 Price

2024 Hero Maestro Edge is available in two variants namely, Maestro Edge Zx Drum which costs Rs 66,820 and Maestro Edge Zx Disc priced at Rs 73,498.

Hero Maestro Edge 110 Competitors

Hero Electric Atria, Hero Maestro Edge 125, Honda Activa 6G, Honda Activa 125, Honda Dio, Suzuki Access 125, Suzuki Burgman Street, TVS Jupiter, TVS NTORQ 125, and TVS Scooty Zest 110 are some of the similar 2-wheelers that rival the new Hero Maestro Edge 110 in the Indian market.

Conclusion

2024 Hero Maestro Edge is a stylish scooter with a class-leading 22-litre storage space, as well as practical features like a mobile charging port, external fuel-filler cap, and smart light in the storage space, making it a compelling buy. It manages to tick all the right boxes in terms of offering the essentials in a 125 cc model for the money. While the scooter may appear to be more expensive than some of its competitors, it does feature segment-first fuel-injection technology, which explains the higher price. At the end of the day, the Maestro 125 is Hero's interpretation of a performance scooter with a dash of practicality. That is also how its primary customer will be.

So much of the problems in my maestro's battery which I bought in October 2017. I have been doing time to time servicing, still, the problem is consistent.

Best Features: Indicators

Pros: Smooth to ride inspite of its weight

Cons: Battery problem is consistent. The charge may get low anytime anywhere. Sometimes in the middle of road.

Good featured scooter built with low quality

I am writing a review after one year. I purchased it last year Dussehra (30th SEP 2017). The mileage at the starting was around 50km/ltr but gradually it decreases and reached 40km/ltr even regular service and maintenance was in place. My engine crank was faulty also kick and the battery was of poor quality. It causes me a lot of problems because I have been commuting 30km daily. Tyre also of low grade because regularly they are creating puncture problems. This scooter I would not refer because it causes frustration to the customer after purchase. The company should be built a quality product because they charged Rs. 60k+ money for that. They should fully check scooter quality before delivering to the customer.

Best Features: Look, comfort and seat length

Pros: Look and comfort (bigger seat length)

Cons: mileage and built quality

I purchased this scooter in Oct 2015, since then almost 3 months passed with full of problems with this scooter. starting problem: at first, everyday it has to take multiple cranking to start. after some time we found out it required to pull chock to start (if you want to start quickly) then a new problem raised that, its battery get drained out in every 2-3 days. so we have to use kick to start, and funny part is, two people require to start this wonderful scooter. one to kick and another to accelerate as the handle bar can not be reached by same person. then a new problem raised leaving everything behind, it stops to recognize its both the keys. have to remove key multiple and insert again to make it work. its support team: once it was on starting in the evening therefore it has to left in office next day when we called workshop they said bring it here, then we will check. then we contacted customer care number they said you will be contacted in two working days. now i am planning to put it on OLX, if anyone doubts the above review, kindly buy this from me i will give you 10% discount on cost. it has just completed 1000 kms, not having even a single scratch, accessories fitted from showroom.

Best Features: Immobilizer

Pros: Immobilizer, can open seat and fuel lid without removing key, light in storage

Cons: Brakes, mileage if starts, powerless above 40-50kmph

The main goal of the maine master fuel is to buy or sell an average of 30 pounds or 30 times an engine noise, but it is recommended that you have a special service center that is ready to serve. I would like to know how to speed up the 40's speed by 40 degrees, so that I can see what the speed is up to speed.

This is the worst vehicle that I had ever seen upto now. Please dont purchase this, Just purchased a month ago and I am getting noice in the engine and even the pickup is very poor. My personal suggestion is better go for Activa only. I did a mistake.

Heor Maestro Edge, full problematic scooty, Self Start very poor. Every try to start many times & this scooty main problem is balancing problem. Rear side heavy weight, So, when back seat ride any person, front side & handling of this scooty totally light & at the time of turn totally false. So I & my friend face accident. & then handle all time vibrating & hidrolik problem. fuel service very poor, now fuel service 30-35 km/l.
