Hero MotoCorp Limited has unveiled their first pure quarter-litre sports bike, Hero HX250R in New Delhi on January 29, 2014 along with four other products. All these are expected to be showcased at Delhi Auto Expo in February 2014 and will arrive in market in the third quarter of this year. Coming back to Hero HX250R, it is a completely stunning model by Hero which is sure to give a tough competition to Honda CBR250R, Pulsar 200 SS and KTM 250 due to its spectacular design and extraordinary power and performance figures. It has been designed and developed by the joint effort of the Hero MotoCorp Limited and their partners in technology, Erik Buell Racing, Engines Engineering and Austrian company AVL. Hero HX250R: Must Know Facts
Hero HX250R ABS has got a lot of features to completely bedazzle you and make you forget other bikes in its segment which includes twin multi-reflector LED headlights, front and rear turn indicators, black rear view mirrors, sports bike type positioned handlebar and footrests, Fireblade-like styling, a stylish under-seat exhaust, 17-inch alloy wheels with 110/80 front and 140/70 rear tubeless tires, geodesic tubular frame, a maintenance free 12V-6Ah battery, dual seats including rear step-up seat, rear grab handle, self-start, low friction engine oil, LED tail light, a closed crankcase ventilation system, a well sculpted fuel tank of 12.9liters, stylish body graphics and LED position lamp.
This stylish piece of machinery has a length of 2085mm, a width of 735mm and a height of 1145mm as its dimensions along with a kerb weight of 139kgs. It has a large wheelbase of 1370mm for a stable ride and a good ground clearance of 145mm for a bump-free ride. It also has a beautiful instrument panel with a digital fuel gauge and speedometer, an analogue tachometer, two digital trip meters, a pass light, a stand alarm and a low fuel and battery indicator.
Hero HX250R ABS has got an all-new 249cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, EFI, liquid-cooled, DOHC, all-aluminium engine with a maximum power of 31bhp and a maximum torque of 26Nm and is mated with a six-speed constant mesh gearbox. It has a bore and stroke of 81mm and 48.5mm respectively along with a wet multi-plate clutch. It has a top speed of over 150kmph and reaches 0-60kmph mark in just 2.7 seconds, which is remarkable. With its light weight and high power, the power to weight ratio is sure to make everyone's eyes pop.
Honda CBR250R vs. Hero HX250R
Hero HX250R ABS has got a remarkable braking system which includes a 300mm diameter single disk with 3-piston calliper at front and a 220mm diameter single disk at rear with the presence of ABS. The suspension system consists of high-quality 37mm telescopic forks at front and monoshock with 5-step adjustable preload and shim valve damping at rear. Hero HX250R ABS will be available as a second variant of the standard HX250R in a combination of black and red shade at an expected ex-showroom, Delhi price of INR 1.50lakhs, which may vary, by the third quarter of this year.
